Butterfly Wonderland!

Since Ron had the week between Christmas and New Year's off we took advantage of it by going and doing some things and enjoying these last few weeks of being a family of just three!

Arizona has the largest butterfly museum and preserve and I've wanted to go to it since it opened but Ron and I decided we would wait until Rondalynn was a year or close to a year before we went.

So with Ron off for the week and Squeaky being almost a year we decided to load up one day and go to Scottsdale to see the butterflies!

The museum part was small but still pretty cool, then you go in and watch a short 12-15 minute movie in 3D about Monarch butterflies. Rondalynn was really into it even though she wouldn't keep her glasses on. But the main part was she enjoyed it!

After the movie you go into another room where they have cocoons of all different types of butterflies in different stages of cocoon life and some that have just emerged and are letting their wings dry so they can use them.

It was really cool to see!

Finally we got to go into the atrium to see all of the butterflies!

They had just misted it so it would be moist like a rain forest which it certainly felt like one!

Because of that the first couple pictures are foggy but some of them even with the fog turned out pretty good!

And luckily the camera stopped fogging up after a couple pictures!

The butterflies had a thing for Ron! This guy hung on to his shirt for a good ten minutes as we walked around before flying off!

Again the butterflies being attracted to my husband! Hahaha!

Ron was not only channeling his in Lion King but was also trying to show Rondalynn the butterfly on his hat!

They has so many beautiful and amazing butterflies!

Rondalynn liked it but she still may have been a little too young to fully take it all in.

They are also getting ready to build an aquarium there too so once that is done and the kids are older I think we go back and see both and get to enjoy their awesome expressions!
