Tasty Love!

Today is the last day of February which means it's the last day to get................

Love Potion 31 at Baskin Robbins!

This is my FAVORITE ice cream!

Hopefully the store by my house ordered extra again so I can get it for a couple more weeks after the month ends!

I wish Baskin Robbins will get tired of my ten million e-mails, letters, gifts, carrier pigeons, bribes, smoke signals, and voice mails to make this a permanent flavor and just make it a permanent one all ready so I don't have to wait eleven months to enjoy it again!

"See You On The Other Side"

Earlier this week the entertainment world lost a great actor, writer, and director.

Normally I don't post entertainment news on here unless to me it's big personally for some reason and sadly this fell into that category!

Harold Ramis who actor, wrote, or directed many great films such as.........

Caddyshack

Meatballs

Stripes

and Groundhog's Day

But one of his most biggest credits was..............

Ghostbusters 1 and 2

Are you all now starting to see why this is an important entertainment new event for me!

He not only wrote them but he was one of the main characters in them.

Dr. Egon Spengler

Ghostbuster are two of my most favorite movies and I thank my parents for introducing me to them when I was little!

Even though I watched them so much I wore out the VHS, had ALL the action figures, never missed an episode of the cartoon, and would get in trouble at preschool for taking all the white Play-Doh to make the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man!

I also had to buy the anniversary collection of the movies when they came out on DVD, was considering joining the Arizona chapter of the Ghostbusters, and when that chapter came to work Child Life knew each time I had to see them after all the kids were done!

As you can see I loved it when they came to work!

These movies started my great love for the entertainment world (the older one long before the mostly horrible one we live in now!) and the love for great movies such as the ones listed above!

It also made me make sure I never missed a movies with any of the four actors that played the four main characters!

So when I found out he had passed I was honestly heartbroken since this is the first actor that I have loved since a child to pass away!

So to close out this post I wish that Harold Ramis will rest in peace and

in the words of Dr. Peter Vankman (aka Bill Murray) in Ghostbusters 1

"We'll see you on the other side!"

Such a Lady!

Since the day she was born Rondalynn as been such a little lady!

And just like a little dainty little lady....

she almost always has her little ankles cross and proper!

She honestly almost always has them like this and even did for a lot of her ultrasounds before she started to run out of room inside her little womb space.

I love it and it just shows her cute and girly personality!

What's In a Name?

Many people have commented on Rondalynn's name and how they like it and how unique it is.

Most people who know Ron and I know that we wanted names for our children that fit into six categories.

1. It has a meaning to us in some way.

2. It's unique.

3. It feels right for that baby.

4. We both love the name.

5. No family member or close friend has the same first and/or middle name.

and

6. It's a name that isn't so out there that they will be teased or anything like that.

Before having children you talk about names but you don't honestly realize how hard and how big of a decision you are making until you are pregnant and have a little one on the way that you will be naming.

It's a big deal choosing a name that will be with your child for their entire life!

It will be on official forms, certificates, awards, and so much more so you want to make sure it's a good name.

Before we got pregnant we talked about names we liked every so often and we knew where each of us stood on certain names and discovered other names that we liked or disliked. Honestly even though it was a big choice it was fun to talk about

Of course we started talking and narrowing names down once I got to my second trimester and by the time I was about 33 or 34 weeks we not only had a good idea of what we were going to name Rondalynn but we had the names for all of our other children and some alternatives if we get more boys or girls.

But just like we did during the pregnancy we aren't even giving hints on what these names are so you will just have to wait until each baby is born!

Hahahaha! I know we are evil!

Okay anyway back onto the main subject!

Since we get comments and questions about Rondalynn's name I decided to post this on both blogs to explain....................

Not just what's in a name but what's in our baby's name!

Rondalynn

As you all know her daddy's name is Ron but since her grandpa Truex passed away a few years before Ron and I even meet a lot of people don't know that his name was Ronnie.

Ron is named after his dad but since his dad didn't want a Ronnie Jr his mom decided to name him just Ron then he would be named after his dad but wouldn't be a Jr at the same time.

Since he was named after his dad and also since his dad has passed away Ron really wanted to carry on the tradition of naming one of our babies using some variation of Ron. But we were very much against doing the Jr as well and honestly their was no boy variation of Ron that I liked at all.

It was also important to me to have a girls name that is very girly. One that you would hear and know without a doubt that it's a girly name. At first no girl
variation of the name Ron fit that and while I liked the name Ronnie for a girl it wasn't anywhere near girly and was more like a nickname or shorten version of a name for me.

We spent many a nights looking up and talking about ways we could turn or add Ron to a girl's name that was girly and we both liked, but nothing felt right to us and things we kinda like that we would say and toy with to see if it grew on us never grew and some we honestly ended up hating them by the end.

Then one night I was watching Sister Wives and one of the daughters is named Gwendolyn. I have heard and seen this name hundreds of times but something about hearing it that night hit me. I don't like the name Gwen but when I took that away, and added Ron to the front it was like a missing puzzle piece and suddenly the name felt completely right.

Ron was working at his desk in our room at the time and I asked him what he thought of the name Rondalynn.

He asked me to repeat it twice, said it over and over a few times, then a big smile lit up his face, and he said he liked it and we both knew that we had finally found the name for our daughter.

We then had to decided how to spell it which Ron put that ball completely into my court! So I got out my notebook and began writing out different ways to spell it.

For some reason I didn't like the "o" in it maybe because my name has the "a" sound in it so that was the first thing I changed. Then for some reason the name didn't look complete and I think it was because I don't like even numbers very much so I added another "n" and then it was perfect!

A beautiful and girly variation of a Ron name for our little girl!

Izabella

Before we even had her first name decided he had a list of middle names that we liked but once again they didn't feel right or grow on us.

After we picked our her name our list for middle names was narrowed down to a couple that would go with Rondalynn and add to her girly name that I had to have.

But the name Izabella or Isabella wasn't on that list at all!

I have always loved this name and the spelling with a "z" and for a long time growing up and in my early adulthood I honestly would have named a future daughter it because at the time it wasn't that popular of a name.

Then the Twilight books and movies came out and that all changed!

I honestly had counted one day at work one day in 2012 that we treated six little girls named Isabelle or Isabella in the ER, had three come in for outpatient procedures, and had five that was admitted at the time. All of them were five and under! It was then I that I crossed this name off any future baby list since I didn't want my daughter to be one of five kids in her kindergarten class with the same name!

After toying with middle names that went with Rondalynn we decided that we would wait until she was born to make sure first that the name Rondalynn fit her and then what middle name fit her with her first name.

When we were in recovery after my c-section we decided right away that she was our Little Rondalynn but both of the middle names we had liked that went with Rondalynn suddenly didn't fit or one or both of us didn't like it anymore.

Ron suggested the middle name Marie but it's one of the top three most popular middle names and it's also the middle name of my cousin Avlee so we quickly took that off the table.

We were both thinking and Ron must have be going over the names we had on our middle name list again. One of the names on the list was
similar to Izabella and that must have been what gave him the idea because he suggested the name Isabella.

Once again it fit like the missing puzzle piece as soon as he said and we knew that, that was it. And when I said I would want to spell it with a "z" instead he liked it even more.

And just like that we had made the first biggest decision for our daughter by giving her the name..............

Rondalynn Izabella Truex

Lastly some fun things about her name you may not have realized!

*Her first name is exactly as long as her daddy's full name.

*Her full name is longer then her mommy's full name including my maiden name.

*She has at least one of each vowel in her whole name.

and

*She has the "hard to use" last three letters in the alphabet (x,y,z) in her name.

Hopefully you all enjoyed this long post and one day many year from now Rondalynn will enjoying reading and learning the meanings and reason behind her name as well.

And of course I will do a post like this for each one of our babies for everyone to enjoy!

Rondalynn's Newborn Photo Shoot

A couple of days after we got home from the hospital our fabulous photographer, Susie, came over to the house to take Rondalynn's official newborn photos!

She took over 200 and I had a hard time picking a small amount that I liked the most because I fell in love with so many of them but these are the ones that Susie edited!

And just as a warning Ron will be editing some of my favorites as well so you will have more of these to enjoy when he gets them edited!

She is so tiny that most of her outfits, hair bows, and hats are too big for her!

Even princesses can slay dragons!

If you watched the show Firefly you will recognize this hat! It's just like the character Jayne's hat from the show! When I got this hat at the baby shower my aunts and cousins went crazy with excitement and I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited about it as well!

Are rings were too big to fit on her big toes so we got creative for a ring photo because I love our wedding rings so much I HAD to have one with her feet and our rings which I'll do with all of our babies!

Poor little baby feet with the scabs from all of her bili level checks at the hospital.

I love this one of her sitting in Ron's hat! Again Ron's hat will probably be used in some photos for all of our babies!

Doesn't this one look like it came right out of an Anne Geddes book?!?!

I'm in love with this picture and how awesome it turned out!

It was an awesome photo shoot and we would have got more poses but Rondalynn wanted to be on this side the most and would fight us and get all stiff when we tried to get her into different positions. But I still love the ones we got and how they turned out!

Oh and most of the hats, sword, and dragon was handmade by my friend of over 20 years, the amazing Kelley Holmes Brown!

I can't wait to show off the ones after Ron edits them and I'm so happy and thankful to have such a great photography friend who once again did an amazing job for another Truex photo shoot and I can't wait for the next photo shoot!

Baby Cousin!

The same day Rondalynn meet her great grandma and great grandpa Hatch she also meet her cousins Alex and Kalia!

They had been waiting patiently for her to make her debut so when they came in that afternoon they ran to the bathroom to wash their hands, since we explained before she was born that they always had to wash their hands to hold her while she is a baby, and hurried over to Uncle Ron who was holding her and wanted their turns to hold their new baby cousin!

They have been great with her and are fully enjoying their new cousin!

Here are the pictures I took during their visit!

Papa stretching the baby!

He does this with all his grand babies and great grand babies and they love it! Also I got all misty watching him do it to my baby!

They were really surprised at how small she was but are completely in love with her!

But I'm Starving!

Okay I'm behind on blogging so expect a post every day or so from me to catch up!

Since I post a lot about Rondalynn I decided it's about time that I post about my other baby, Socrates!

Earlier this month when I was eating and on my computer Socrates came over and was trying to convince me that he was wasting away!

Doesn't it look like he is beyond starving!

29!

Today I'm 15,242,400 minutes old!

Or 254,040 hours old!

Or 10,585 days old!

Or 1508 weeks old!

Or 348 months old!

However you want to count it, it all means.......................

Yep to day is my 29th birthday and the start of the last year in my twenties!

Normally women start to get depressed about the end of their twenties but I look back at the start of this last year before the big 30 and see all I've done, been through, taught to others, and learned and I can only hope that this year adds to that list and my thirties are just as adventurous if not more so!
