The Adventures of 2012!

Seeing that today is the last day of 2012 I decided to give you all a recap on my many adventures of this year!

*January*

Ron and I spent a very quiet New Year's Eve celebrating Kalia's 2nd Birthday and then watching the ball drop from the comfort of our couch!

We spend the night of New Year's Day lighting off fireworks with Alex and Kalia in the driveway!

I shocked everyone at work by letting Ron pick out the hot pink vest for his tux for the wedding and then I would match to it! He went during work and called me to ask about it and when my coworkers who were there heard me say just get the color he thought was the closest to the hot pink and a collective gasp was heard at the nursing station!

We finished addressing, stuffing, stamping, and mailing out the rest of the wedding invitations!

My mama, my mother in law Echo, and my sister in law Shelia hosted my amazing, fun, and day long bridal shower!

I celebrated six years of employment at Banner/Cardon children's and still love it!

We continued planning and preparing full force for the wedding and the reception!

After about 50 hours of work on Echo's part and about 20 hours of work on my own part my wedding dress was turned from a crazy disaster to a unique, one of a kind, and perfect dream dress!

*February*

I gave up my Super Bowl Sunday to go and get our most beautiful and amazing formal wedding photos by the wonderful Susie B! It was the best missed Super Bowl ever and Ron looked completely amazing!
My favorite ice cream flavor at Baskin Robbins came out and out of fear that I would eat too much and not fit in my dress I only had it three times!

I got the most amazing news that my Drandpa Larson had gotten his temple recommend, after years of not having it and was going to be able to see me get married in the temple! I won't lie I never thought I would see it happen but was beyond moved and thrilled! I kept myself together for the most part when we were sealed but at the end and he came up to us I was filled with so much joy, love, and pride to see him there that I completely lost it and started crying tears of happiness!

Ron surprised me on Valentine's Day with going out to dinner and a black and white diamond heart shaped necklace! We decided that this Valentine's Day would be low key since we were getting married so it was a wonderful surprise!

I turned 27 on the 16th and Ron and I went to one of my favorite places Outback for dinner!

Ron and I opened a bank account in both of our names! I know it's a small thing but it was one step closer to our officially starting our new life together!

The day after my birthday I was seen in the ER with horrible stomach pains and had to be admitted, possibly to have surgery, for a bowel obstruction. I was put on bowel rest which meant no eating or drinking for five days to help resolve the problem without me having to have surgery!

My Ducky officially became a teenager and turned 13 on the 18th!

After six days of bowl rest, pain, lots of tears, thoughts, and prayers I was discharged home exactly one week before the wedding without having to have surgery! The only downside was I had lost enough weight that I almost was too small to fit in my wedding dress!

The week before the wedding we were in full force getting everything together and ready for the wedding and reception!

On February 29, 2012 at 2:29pm I knelt over the alter with my soul mate and eternal companion Ron as we were sealed for time and all eternity. It was a beautiful, amazing, spiritually, and the most wonderful day of my life so far!

*March*

On March 2nd we had our ring ceremony and wedding reception! It was beyond fun and was filled with friends, family, good food, laughs, some tears of joy, loads of pictures, and a ton of memories!

Ron and I left and drove up for our five day honeymoon in Las Vegas! We went the long way and went up North first to see my Grandma and Grandpa Hatch because my grandpa was sick and was in the hospital so they couldn't come down for the wedding and since we were up there we stopped by my Drandma and Drandpa Larson's house as well!

Ron and I attended the Las Vegas Temple while we were on our honeymoon. It was wonderful to be able to go and it, like all the other Houses of the Lord, was beautiful!

I officially moved in to Ron's house and we started to get into the groove of married life!

My new brother in law Jeremy celebrated his 25th birthday on the 17th.

My cousin Claudia had her first baby, Ezekiel Joshua Thomas Tieman or Zeke for short! He is the a big  ball of cuteness!

Ron and I won a trip to London to go to the premier of the 15th Anniversary 3D version of Titanic done specially for the 100 year anniversary of the sinking!

Ron and I left for our four day trip to London! We got to see some of the most beautiful and amazing things and got to walk and have our pictures taken on the red carpet of the premier like we were movie stars!

Ron and I celebrated one month of being married!

*April*

My sister in law Shelia celebrated her 25th birthday on the 1st!

Ron and I had a fun Easter and even dyed Easter eggs, just us two!

Ron began looking for another job out of the house as a programmer.

We got the wonderful news that my cousin Mekell and my cousin in law Piper were both expecting babies in the fall!

My mama and my Llama celebrated their 49th and 22nd Birthdays on the 17th!

Ron and I celebrated two months of being married!

I sadly got sick with an infection in my hip and spent the last week of April in Good Sam hospital getting treatment for it!

*May*

After being home from the hospital for a week my infection was gone all the way and it came back full force which earned me a stay once again in the hospital during the first week of May

My amazing visiting teacher came to visit me in the hospital and gave me the book Heaven is Here by Stephanie Nielsen. I read it five times in two weeks and it is now one of my all time favorites!

Ron started doing going to a few very promising interviews as a Senior Programmer for a few companies!

We gave our mommies digital frames for Mother's Day with a load of our engagement and wedding photos in it!

Ron and I got called to be Ward Missionaries!

Ron got a job as a Senior Programmer for a newer company called Gravity Web Works in Phoenix and started at the end of May!

Ron and I were able to go to Surprise and be there for the blessing of baby Zeke!

My amazing husband, Ron, turned 29th on May 24th!

Ron and I celebrated three months of being married!

*June*

Ron and I headed up to Holbrook the first weekend in June to celebrate my Drandma and Drandpa Larson's 50th Wedding Anniversary! It was so much fun and they still look so very much in love!

I started getting used to Ron being gone and at work every day on the days that I was home after over a year of getting used to having him home and working all day!

Ron and I beat in less than two weeks Lego Batman and the Lego Star Wars games because we are just that awesome! Hahaha!

I sadly lost a family member of a dear past patient of mine who I became close too and so I spent an entire day baking anything and everything I could think of!

I got nominated for a State award for the field of Pediatrics, a great and huge honor!

Ron and I celebrated four months of being married!

*July*

We enjoyed a fun and quiet 4th of July holiday at home, which tasty food made by my husband and a ton of fireworks we lit up in the driveway!

Konner and I got all cowed up for our annual Cow Appreciation Day for Chick-Fil-A and got us some super tasty free food!

On Konner and my cow day, which also happened to be on the Friday the 13th I got stung by a cross breed of a Brazilian and Arizona Bark scorpion and had a horrible reaction that was just the start to some horrible and nasty effects of the venom!

I quickly got sick after the sting. I ended up taking many trips to the ER and spent some time in the hospital because the venom attacked my body so bad! It ran a muck, attacking my hip replacements, collecting pockets of fluid laced with this venom around parts of my kidneys, liver, heart, and base of my brain. It also slowly started decreasing my spinal fluid, which caused horrible migraines, nausea, and vomiting! I was beyond sick and unable to keep anything more than Otter Pops and Gatorade down and because of my decreased spinal fluid standing upright and walking caused my headache to get ten times worse, the room to spin, and my eyes to blur, and by the end I had lost over 20 pounds. They ended up draining the fluids, filtering my blood three times, giving me blood transfusions, giving me antibiotics, steroids, fluids, a blood patch, and pain and nausea meds. In the end it took almost three weeks before I was better and almost back to normal!

Ron being the amazing man he is got me a solid black, eight week old kitten, who is a very playful lover and sweetheart! He color and build reminds me of my old cat Mongrel growing up and it was love at first sight! I named her Isis and she is my baby!

I found out that I won the award that I was nominated for and found out that because of that I was nominated for the national award!

I enjoyed the opening ceremonies of the 2012 Olympics and like always got into the games!

Ron and I celebrated five months of being married!

*August*

I continued to watch the Olympics and enjoy the games until they ended on the 12th!

I sadly had another complication and flair up from the scorpion sting and had to spend a couple of days in the hospital to get fluid drained, fluids, antibiotics, and steroids.

My nephew Alexzander turned 4 on the 16th!

I got to make a super cute Cars cake for Alexzander's birthday party!

I got asked to be a part of the children's CD for the Children's hospitals in Arizona!

Ron's company moved to a bigger and better office in Downtown Phoenix! It's a pain to find parking when I got to have lunch with him but he has some amazing lunch choices so it's all good!

Ron, Echo, and I decided to go to Utah and Disneyland in the fall and picked out the dates and started planning!

Ron being the amazing hubby found a ceramic store by our house so I could pick up my old hobby! So we have gone to and gotten and made some pretty amazing things and gifts for people!

Ron and I celebrated six months of being married!

*September*

We enjoyed a lovely and quiet Labor Day weekend at home!

My Karli Rachon face turned 19 on the 5th!

I got a game plan for school and further education!

Because of the venom from scorpion it attacked my replacements causing another infection in my left hip. That earned me a couple days in the hospital and a month of a PICC line with home antibiotics!

I found out that I didn't win the national award I was nominated for but it was still a great honor to be nominated!

I joined my cousins Brittany and Claudia at Mekell's house for a fun night of food, laughter, girl talk, and Halloween crafts!

Ron and I started out annual tradition of getting fall family and Halloween photos! Since we both love Halloween and like to do things different we decided that doing normal and Halloween family pictures every year in the fall is the way to go for our family!

Ron and I celebrated seven months of being married!

*October*

The company that Ron works for is getting bigger and he was promoted to a Senior Programmer manager!

Thanks to some flying toys and craziness I got my first ever black eye!

I got some amazing news from my bestie! She is expecting her first baby with her husband! I found out in October and had to keep completely mum on it until they told their family! Which since I put this on this post you can beat that they have told everyone!

Ron and I sent out our annual Halloween cards! We are sending out these instead of Christmas cards because he are just cool like that!

I made these super cute ceramic pumpkins for our Grandparents with their last names in it for them as Christmas/Halloween gifts!

Mekell had a super cute "Little Man" baby shower!

My mother in law Echo had her birthday on the 16th!

Piper had a super fun and cute baby shower for her little pumpkin!

My cousin in law Piper had her cutie Kimber Joy Finlayson!

My Daddy had his 49th birthday on the 25th!

Ron, Echo, and I left in the afternoon of the 31st to start our Utah and Disneyland vacation!

Ron and I celebrated eight months of being married!

*November*

We enjoyed our Utah and Disneyland vacation! We went to the Manti and Salt Lake Temples and then spent four days enjoying both Disneyland and California Adventure!

My cousin MeKell had Mr. Hansom pants Hudson Crew Burch!

I got to play nurse for my mother in law because she had her gallbladder taken out about a week before Thanksgiving.

Ron and I had a super fun movie night with Alexzander and Kalia! We watched both Cars movies and I made pigs in a blanket that looked like cars and made up activity kits that were "Roadside Emergency Kits"

We had the Sister Missionaries over for dinner which is always fun!

We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving full of family, fun, laughing, and food!

Ron scored big on Black Friday! He got a laptop for his mom, two or three, and at least ten Blu-Rays and didn't even pay $150!

Ron and I celebrated nine months of being married!

*December*

We decorated, got gifts and made gifts, did some wrapping, and got all set for Christmas!

Ron and I went to a very fun work party for the company Ron works for. Since it's a small company it was a nice small party with a formal but fun and super, super tasty food!

Finally after being together for almost two years Ron and I made it to our first Suns games! His boss gave us these amazing tickets that were three or four rows from the court! We had Tilted Kilt for dinner and then had fun watching the Suns beat the Jazz! Because he loves me and he knows I'm a huge Suns fan Ron got me a small Suns flag, a pack of 50 Suns cards from all years of different Suns players, and the cutest ever purple Suns stocking!

We had a good and quiet Christmas and got some awesome stuff!

I got yet another infection in my left hip that almost caused me to be admitted during Christmas! Luckily the doctor was kind to let me go home and see him on the 26th to follow up and see what else to do. Sadly I got admitted then for a couple of days but the infection is gone and my blood is cleared from any trace of the scorpion venom as well!

Oh baby Socrates turned 4 on the 25th!

My niece Kalia turned 3 on the 31st.

And lastly since this is the 31st our plan is to throw a small party for Kalia's birthday, (I'm making dolphin cupcakes by her request!), hang out and enjoy being with each other, and later today setting off fireworks in the driveway!

While I had some huge and amazing things happen this year I have also had some pretty huge bad/hard things making it also a very trying year. One that not only tested me, but also tested Ron, our marriage, our faith, and strength. But we have stuck it out and come out even stronger and more in love than ever in the end!

I hope you all had a very joyous year and that 2013 is just as fabulous as this year if not better!

Ten Months!

Yep another month has come and gone and we are once again at the 29th which means another Anniversary update from Mr. and Mrs. Truex for all you lovelys!

*We had a happy and fun Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with full of laughter, love, and tasty food! This year the holiday was very busy! We had Christmas Eve activities with Mimi and Papa, (Ron's grandparents), my parents, siblings, Grandma & Grandpa Hatch, and all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins from my mom's side of the family. Then for our Christmas Day activities we spent them with again a little bit with my parents, siblings, all the aunts, uncles, and cousins from my mom's side of the family, Ron's mom, Ron's sister, her husband, and her two babies!

*Ron and I not only went to our first Suns game of the season but also our first Suns game together on December 14th when the Suns played the Utah Jazz! We got our tickets from Ron's boss and the only way to be closer to a court was to be on a team bench or at the official table!

*Besides for family filled Christmas parties and activities we were able to go to a few fun and awesome holiday parties of our friends!

*I fought off yet another infection in my left hip but luckily it was caught early and I was able to fight it off!

*Our baby Socrates turned four on Christmas Day! And yes he got both a Christmas and Birthday present!

*My bestie announced that she and her hubby are expecting their first baby next summer! I couldn't be more thrilled for her and I'm so excited! And I was happy she announced it because I have know for a while and it was getting hard not to let it slip and start buying more for her "basket of baby love" gift for her little bundle!

Even though it was the holidays and we had many parties and tons of fun, it was honestly a pretty mellow month for us, which we both loved! But you never know what next month will bring so stay tune!

Disney Souvenirs!

Of course you can't go to Disneyland without coming home with at least a few souvenirs so as my final Utah/Disneyland vacation posts you get to see the couple of fun and cute things that we got!

Most of you know that I love the Disney pins. Before we weren't allowed to wear our badges on our lanyards at work I wore a black with blue and purple flames Disney villain lanyard that I filled with twenty, yes twenty, Disney pins. A random but funny side note about my lanyard is it with all twenty pins, my badge, locker key, tape, medical scissors, and communication Vocera (kinda a walkie talkie that's big in the medical world) comes in at 5lbs and 3oz! Yep I was carrying a 35 to 37 week or so newborn around my neck and it never bother me! Seventeen of the twenty were different Disney villains, because I completely love Disney villains, two Disney 50th Anniversary pins, and a Winnie the Pooh pin given to me by a beloved patient and her family about a month before she passed away. Anywho when I say these baby Disney character pin, especially the Donald one I knew I wanted it in hopes to add it to my lanyard and be able to wear it at work again! But you have to admit that Donald is super cute and perfect for the Donald and Daisy Duck fans that Ron and I are!

And NO, just because we got a set of baby Disney character pins is not hinting at me being with child!

I'M VERY, VERY, VERY MUCH
 NOT WITH CHILD!

These are all containers that held some super tasty snacks in! Lightening McQueen and Ghost Mickey Mouse popcorn buckets (that looks like you are eating their brains when you eat the popcorn from it, which sounds horrible but it's a little funny and all in good fun) and the awesome R2D2 treat or drink mug!

I must have a secret inner English lady inside me because I have for over half of my life had a complete love for tea! When we were in London I had two or three cups at breakfast each day, one or two at lunch each day, two or three at dinner, and then since out room had complimentary tea, sugar, and cream and a little and cute electric teapot in our room as well as two mugs and two super cute baby tea spoons! Because of all of this it was a given that we had to get the Mad Hatter tea!

And duh! You can't have Mad Hatter tea without the proper tea party hats! A little background of the hats for you! We saw a ton of the little Mad Hatter hats in all sorts of designs and styles being sported by many people in Disneyland. I loved the little Mad Hatter hats but I wanted to get a hat that wasn't also on every other females head in the park. Ron also wanted a Mad Hatter hat but the amazing and highly detailed one we were seeing everyone had a tacky and ugly orange wig sewed into the inside that we didn't want to risk trying to take the wig out without a seam riper or another proper tool and end up ruining it and all the other ones we would occasionally see we would ask and find out that they were only stocked for about a year three, two, or one year ago (including this awesome Jack Skeleton one that Ron would have gotten it in a snap if they had it and I would have got the Jack Skeleton mini Mad Hatter hat to match. Another side note is when we were talking to Jack Skeleton our last day there he was not happy that they got rid of the big ones and only had the little ones.)

Okay sorry I got side tracked again, anyway by the end of our full first day there we figured we wouldn't find Mad Hatter hats that we like and would have to settle for a different hat. Ron was going to get the Mickey Mouse Sorcerer hat from Fantasia and I was going to get either get an original Mickey Mouse hat since I've never had one or the Yoda Mickey Mouse hat. As we were walking through California Adventure toward Paradise Pier to watch the Magical World of Color show we passed a gift shop and I thought I saw a big and different Mad Hatter hat. I told Ron and he decided to check it out. Sadly the one that caught my eye was the same one with the orange wig just with something on top of it, which bummed us out a bit. Then I walked to the back side of the display that had the hat I noticed and sitting all lonely was this lone, completely awesome somewhat cartoon like with a classic, fun, and big statement playing card Mad Hatter hat! It's made completely out of silk or a silk like material has a navy blue rim and top of the hat, has a thick checker board borders around the base, solid white from the checker border up and large black and red playing card suite shapes of spades, clubs, diamonds, and hearts that are cracked down the middle. I showed it to Ron and he really liked it and all three of us concluded that we had yet to see anyone, no joke no one, in that same hat. So Ron picked it up and I went looking a Mad Hatter hat that I like and didn't see too many people in it. Just across from where Ron got his hat was three or four shelves of the mini Mad Hatter hats and as I was looking at them most of them were very popular and I had seen a lot of people sporting them. I figured I would have to pick out one of those ones and get over my want for a less popular one. Then on the bottom shelf I saw one that I completely fell in love with! It's formal/elegant design based on the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. It has three mini versions of her scepters with jewels on top in clear, pink, and red in the shapes of a diamond, club, and of course a heart. It also has a beautiful orange/pinkish color overlaying it's solid sage green silk or silk like material that is the base cover fabric for the entire hat and has a pink longer piece of tulle around the base that ties in a bow in the back that has long tails which go to about the shoulders. Since it's a small hat it's had a hard body under the fabric and a elastic string to keep it on. Again the three of us decided that we hadn't seen this hat on anyone as well. So we happily got them and wore them each day we were there after that and they added the best touch to my favorite attraction photo from our trip, our third and last for this trip turn on the Hollywood Tower of Terror!

Hahaha! Wow sorry again for the long story about our Mad Hatter hats!

This is the Dumbo and Timothy we won while playing one of the games at Paradise Pier. It was slow at that booth so it was just Ron and I playing against each other but it was still fun and I'm happy to say it was the only game I did better that Ron at during our trip! I won two of our three games and Ron won the other one! Since Ron is so amazing he was a very good sport that I won more of the games then he did (which honestly one game more isn't that much better! Hahaha!) We technically won three games because the lady there told us if we won two Timothy plushies we could trade them for a Dumbo because it was just us playing and she said he day had been very slow. So of course we jumped on that offer then played one more game to get another Timothy since you can't have Dumbo without his wing man (Hehehe, sorry I couldn't help it!) by his side!

And lastly one of my most favorites and one of the most awesome things we got from Disneyland! Another perk of Disney buying out the Star Wars franchise is now they can sell and make so many cool Star Wars things like this! Donald Duck being Darth Maul like a boss!

Utah/Disneyland Trip 2012 Day 5 Part 1!

On to the first of three posts about day five of our vacation! (I told you I had a lot of photos and posts to do about them! Hahaha!)

We again spent most of this day at Disneyland and then evening in California Adventure!

One of the best things about day five was not only was I at the Happiest Place on Earth with my soul mate and the love of my life but I also got the treat of hearing and seeing one of my favorite musical group who was there filming a small Christmas concert for Disney!

Tears of a Leader.

As many of you know I very, very rarely post twice in one day, but I couldn't help the unbelievable feeling that I needed to post this.

The tragic events of the elementary school shooting last week once again has rocked our society, taken the lives of some precious and beautiful spirits that brought joy not only to those who loved them but they brought a little bit of joy to the world just like I feel every good person does, and stole the innocent of many most far to early.

When events like this happen it breaks my heart and makes me worry about the world my future children will one day live in. But because of the field I work in I see many things that break my heart and can shake your foundation such as these events do. I have learned to try to tone down my emotions and deal with it objectively at very first and then take down that emotional wall and mourn. It is the way that I have learned since working in this field and it is actually rewarding and allows me to take it all in, from all angles, and helps me grow and love even more.

When doing this I try to keep away from Youtube, Social Media, or anything else other then the nightly news for about a week so I feel that I can get the entire views and feelings about it. But today I broke down and watched just one video and I was deeply, deeply moved. So moved that I felt I needed to post it.

Now I won't lie, I did not vote for him, and honestly I'm not his biggest fan. Nevertheless he is the leader of our country and deserves at least a little respect. But this video gave me a little more respect for him and moved me deeply. It doesn't make me jump on his bandwagon and support those things I don't have the same views on but I have a better respect for him as a man, husband, and father after watching this. I strongly feel that just because you are the leader of a nation doesn't mean that you can't show that you are also a human, who hurts and cries over the same things that we all do and I thank him for his emotions during this and letting us know that he too is grieving and just like we all did that night last week hugged his babies a little closer and tighter.

Utah/Disneyland Trip 2012 Day 4!

I realized that I have a ton of photos to share with everyone so the rest of the vacation posts I've put into slide shows to save on time and make it easier to look through!

Utah/Disneyland Trip 2012 Day 3!

After getting more sleep than the night before we woke up ready to continue our journey! We went and had a tasty breakfast at Denny's twin brother JB's and then decided to go back to the temple grounds across the street to get a few (maybe much more than a few!) day time photos

This is the top of the Joseph Smith building and that second window from the right is where we sat for dinner the night before!

The Brigham Young monument.

And here is my favorites of the ton that Ron and I took of the temple and the grounds that morning!

Ron and I in front of the Salt Lake Temple!

Ron and I again!

I told both Ron and Echo that I really wanted to find a bright red tree to get a picture of Ron and I in front of because we don't get very much of the beautiful fall colors in Arizona. Luckily I found a tree just like that and not only did we get one picture in front of it

but we got two!

This was my favorite picture I took of the temple!

After thirty or so minutes of picture taking we go back into the car to start our almost all day drive to the next stage of our trip! Of course to pass the time I took a lot of pictures from the car!

The town where the Brown family from the TLC show Sister Wives were from before moving to Las Vegas.

We got into our hotel in Anaheim, California later that night and after a yummy dinner at Mimi's Cafe we settled in to go to bed and be ready for our day four adventure!
