Konner and Shaye

From the time Konner was born until he was about six his best friend was our next door neighbor Shaye. They her and her family moved up to Flagstaff. Well a couple of weeks ago her dad and her came down to the valley and her and Konner got to hang out for the day and it was just like old times! I took them to the movies and to lunch and they had a blast!

Konner and Shaye at lunch! Aren't they cute! Shaye is such a sweetie and her and Konner are like two peas in a pod!

The Enterprise family!

First of all forgive me for the funny and randomness of this blog. But it was too funny as we talked about it to pass up blogging about!

The other night my mom, Konner, and I were at dinner and we got talking about a talk he has to give in church for Father's Day and how he wanted to add in Star Trek somehow into the talk. Well that turned into a whole new topic that ended with the..............................

The Larson Enterprise family!!

Our mom is Captain James T. Kirk because she is the commander and boss of the house and she kicks butt!

Dad is Scotty because he is the engineer and keeps the house running and working!

Konner is Chekov. Mainly because he was the last one we picked a character for and the rest of us had already called the other ones he wanted and because he has an awesome Russian accent.

I am Bones because I am a doctor damn it! Hehehehehehe sorry I couldn't resist! No seriously it's because I'm in the medical field and because I'm awesome!

Karli is Spock because she is logical and calm all the time.

And now brace yourself for the Llama Face

Kristopher is Uhura! Mainly because he knows Klingon and is learning German so you can say he has the talent of tongue!

So that is my awesome post for the day about our awesome family!

D-Backs game!!

On June 10th my fabulous best friend and I went to a................

Diamondbacks game!!!

We rode the light rail down to the ball park and it was my first time riding it!

Tarin on the light rail

Me on the lightrail. And that poor girl behind me I think I stepped on a million times since we had to stand the whole way there since everyone is riding the light rail to get to the game!

And of course Tarin and I on the light rail!

Pics of the game!

Another game pic!

And of course since we are girls and since it was a girl's night we had to talk about which D-Back players we thought were hot!

Tarin is more for Eric Byrnes

And I am more for Ryan Roberts!

And here is Tarin and I at the end of the game!

It was a super fun game ever though we lost and our section won the condiments race and so we got a free hot dog from Circle K!

Star Trek

On June 1st we went and saw this!!!

STAR TREK!!!!

Karli and Ducky as we are waiting for the movie to start.

Ducky and I as we wait for the movie to start! Isn't he the cutest thing ever!

And lastly Karli and I waiting for the movie to start. Sorry this one is so close, Konner took it for us and he was sitting right next to me and didn't move back.

So I would love to tell you that this was the first time that I was seeing the movie but it would be a huge lie! This was Karli's first time, Konner's second, and you guessed it my third time seeing it! Maybe it's because the movie is epic and awesome and has even the people with the littlest of Trekkieness in them squeal in delight! Or it could be because of him!!

Zachary Quinto who plays Spock! Let me just say he is a huge bowl of yum!! Hehehehehe!

So since then I have seen it two more times and I have to admit it is my favorite movie of the year, so far at least! And it makes me not afraid to admit that I am a huge Trekkie!!

Holbrook Museum

Another day on my trip up North I went to the little Holbrook museum in the old court house in town

Here is the old county jail.

And one of the old jail cells.

Here is the old mail room.

The old safe

Old pharmacy instruments

An old cash register

This is the Vietnam memorial for Navajo County

All the names of those who served and lost their lives in Vietnam from Navajo County

This is the memorial for both of the World Wars and the Korean war. On both sides of this memorial are all the names of those from Navajo County who lost their lives while serving the Country

It isn't a big museum but it was fun to go and see some of the old things from the back in the day and read up on some history of the towns up there!

Snowflake Temple

While I was up North I went up to Snowflake/Taylor area to visit with my Hatch grandparents and cousin Brittany! We went and had a fabulous lunch at Trapper's, which I haven't been too since I was a little girl. Then we drove around town, went to see the Snowflake Temple, went home and chatted for a while, and then Brittany and I went and got ice cream and Italian sodas at the cute little antique shop and soda bar in Snowflake! So here are some pictures we took while we were are the Temple!

Brittany and Grandma

Grandma and I

And lastly Brittany and I!

As you can tell by the pictures it was a beautiful and cloudy day and it was a lot of fun to be able to hang out with them!

Petrified Forest

While I was on my little vacation I decided to play tourist all by myself for a day and go to the Petrified Forest since I hadn't been there since junior high or early high school. And since it is about 15 minutes from Holbrook! But forgive me because once again I got very camera happy!

Here is one of the dinosaur fossil that was found here. This isn't the real set of bones but is a replica of the real thing to go on display here. The real one is in California being studied.

And here are two more replica dinosaur fossils

Some petrified wood

A fallen petrified tree

This is a petrified tree that has fallen and made a little bridge. In the early 1900's when it was found they reinforced it with the cement structure that was under it. Now if something like this was found they wouldn't put anything up to help save it or reinforce it but let nature take it's course.

These are called the Teepees

These next couple of pictures are from Newspaper Rock, which is the countries biggest area of ancient drawings or wall artwork

These next few pictures are from my favorite part of the whole park. This is the Jasper Forest and it was so beautiful there

These next ones are of a site with some ruins

Also at the site with the ruins was more rock drawing and these ones are really cool!

A cool little design

A man being eaten by a bird

And cute little animals!

Some of the Painted Desert

And more of the Painted Desert!

It was a perfect day to go! It was in the low 80's and over cast and it even rained a little at the very end of the day. Sorry for all the rock and nature pictures! I guess I'm a bit too much like my great grandma in that aspect. But what I am so proud about is I walked every trail that was there which is a totally of about 4 and a 1/2 miles! And the next day I still felt great and just had a little soreness like you get after working out.
