Santa and Temple Lights.

Earlier last week Llama and I were at the mall getting some last minute things for my mom before our family went out of town. We were sitting in the food court and Santa was down stairs so we decided why not?

We haven't had a picture with Santa together in a long time so we thought it would be fun and it was. I'm still a little puffy from my surgery the week before and Llama has his fun goofy smile but it was a lot of fun!!

Last night I went with my Aunt Lori, Uncle Sid, and cousins Brittany and David to the Temple lights.

I haven't been in I think two or three years so it was a lot of fun to be able to go and see everything! I took this right before we left, isn't it beautiful!!

Here is the other side of the Temple and some lights that are in front.

The Wise men and the camels in the open field out in front. When did they get the colored head dresses?

Just some trees and plants all lit up!

They had these trees in a couple of places that I thought were pretty awesome!

I don't remember this being here the last time I went but it is Mary and Joseph with the donkey.

This is the Holy Family on the big nativity on the Temple grounds. I think we need one just like it for our front yard! Hint hint mom and dad!!!

The Wise men again would look good in the front yard with the Holy family!!!

And the Shepherds which would make the front yard nativity complete!!
So once we finished outside we decided to go inside and see the nativity sets that they had there. Now this is a bad place to take a nativity collector. It's like taking a vampire on a field trip to a blood bank! So I got a little camera crazy and have decided I need one of each one I took a picture of!

This one is from somewhere in Africa.

I believe this one is from Chile.

This one is made completely out of corn husk.

This one is from South America and I love how it is in a huge bowl!

I don't remember where this one is from but it has a Llama in it!!

Here is another one from South America.

This one is from Poland and is so cute and small!

This one is from Tucson! So Claudia if you see one like it let me know!!!

This one is from Mongolia.

I don't know where this is from but it is a hand made quilt! And I want it!!!

Again I don't remember where this one is from but I want to say it was a "stan" country.

Again I don't know where this one is from but isn't it beautiful!!

I want to say there ones are from somewhere in the U.S. but they are on eggs! Again I think I need one!

Look at how cute this one is from China!!

Here is one from Russia and the stained glass one is I believe from South America.

And lastly this one is from Alaska!! It has a moose and a polar bear in it!! I have to have one!!
So that is it of my trip to the Temple. And if any of you are going to some of these places or see a nativity like the ones I have posted remember little old me!!!

Thanksgiving!

This year Llama and I had Thanksgiving alone here at the house. Since him and I had to work this weekend we couldn't escape with the rest of our family up north. But we got the stuff to make a small and simple Thanksgiving here for just the two of us! I started cooking around 9:45am in the mind set of other Thanksgivings and was done within an hour! So at 11am we had Thanksgiving dinner or brunch I guess it would be. It was very simple with honey baked ham and turkey slices, green bean casserole, instant potatoes, Stove Top stuffing, gravy, and Pillsbury rolls. We even each got a bottle of sparkling apple cider because we are that awesome!! So by 11:45am we were done with dinner, the dishes done, the pie baked and cooling, and ready to either watch football or take a nap!!

Here is our simple dinner! I even used the pretty plates, bowls, and glasses for all but one dish! It was a lot of fun and very yummy!

Twilight!

So last weekend my sister Karli and I went and saw Twilight!! It was really good. Not as good as the book mind you but still good. And it had a bunch of really sexy vampires in it!! Hehehehe!!

Here is a really bad picture of me and her in the theater waiting for the movie to start! I kept looking at the time and telling Karli how many more minutes like an excited five year old!

And this is Karli eating popcorn and giving me the I can't believe I am seeing this movie with you look. She was very awesome and put up with my OMG Twilight mood!!

Things you learn at work.

So it is amazing the things you learn at work when you are bored and have down time. I was on MSN after checking my e-mail and I saw this link for toy myths and just had to click on it. So here are some of my favorites that I learned today.

Play-Doh was originally made to clean soot off wallpaper in the early 1900's. When homes started to be heated by gas instead of coal and wallpaper was made by an easier to clear material it lost it use. Then the maker heard from a teacher how it was hard for the little kids to mold with model clay, so he sent her some Play-Doh and it became a huge hit!!
A rumor started in the huge Cabbage Patch era that hit in the 80's and 90's that the Cabbage Patch dolls were made to look like the mutant babies that we would be having after nuclear war. When this was brought up to the designer and maker they ensure that this was not the case at all.
Lincoln Logs were made by John Lloyd Wright who is the son of the famous builder Frank Lloyd Wright. He modeled them after a design of one of his father's Tokyo hotels.
And lastly if Babrie was a real woman she would be between 5'8" and 7' tall, she would weigh between 100-110lbs, her hips would be between 33-35 inches, her waist would be between 18-21 inches, and her bust would be between 38-40 inches. Her feet would be too small to walk properly or even walk at all and her neck would be twice as long as a normal person's neck! Talk about creepy! The only thing that I could think of that would be creepier is if a Bratz doll was a real person!!
So there you go my fun and pointless blog for today to entertain you all!!!

Halloween Haunting!!

Halloween this year was a lot of fun! My little cousin Avlee came over and this was the first year that she has been excited to go trick or treating. She couldn't wait and held my hand the whole time as we ran (yes ran!) from house to house. She kept saying "We have to beat the boys (her dad and Konner) to the house so we can get the better candy!" It was so much fun and she was so cute!!! We went a little bit through our neighborhood and then down to the back of the school where our ward was having their trunk or treat. It was a really fun Halloween!!!

Here is the four of us kids. Karli the Gangster, Avlee the angel, Konner a Star Wars bounty hunter, and I'm a fairy with some huge purple wings. Kristopher had to work.

This is a better picture or Karli and her costume so you all can get the full effect of her awesomeness!!

My mom was a witch! Gotta love the socks!!!

My dad making hot dogs at the ward trunk or treat.

And lastly our awesome pumpkins! Mine is the one with the vampire teeth that is very simple!

Halloween cupcakes!

The Wednesday before Halloween I made cupcakes for work. I couldn't decide what one I wanted to make more so I did all three designs that I liked! They are very simple but I think they are really cute!!

The first one is dirt and worms. It is just crushed up Oreos and gummy worms. Sorry that the picture is really bad.

Here is my very simple spider web complete with spider rings! Sorry the picture is so blurry. As you can tell I was having some camera issues that day!

And lastly the eye ball cupcake! It is just a cherry in the middle or you could also use a red gum ball. At least this picture turned out okay!
Everyone at worked loved them and they were very tasty!!
