10 Years Already!

Going through my blog tonight I realized I never posted about a big milestone of mine this year!

Ten years ago I graduated high school!

I know 10 years has already gone by!

Now I'm not going to get into the crazy and horribleness of the last minute half ass 10 year reunion but here are the only two pictures I could find of me on graduation day!

Me and my third row choir ladies!

I love these girls so much and wish I got to see them more!

And me getting ready to leave for graduation!

It's crazy to think that 10 years ago I was ending my high school career and of everything that has filled those ten year!

Spotted Squeaky!

Early in December Rondalynn started getting a runny nose but was still happy, then she added some fevers to that runny nose and a little fussiness as well as trying to chew on anything she could get her hands on!

I figured she was getting another tooth and when I checked her gums they were hard and you could feel the teeth just waiting to pop through. So I just treated her symptoms and tried to make her comfortable and for the most part she was still her happy self.

But after a couple days the fevers didn't get better and were starting to get worse and she started acting like she wasn't feeling good. She wasn't pulling on her ears or anything so I didn't think it was an ear infection but it was something so we called up her amazing pediatrician, Dr. Milius, and went in to see him.

He agreed she wasn't feeling well and also that she was teething but of course she would want to do both of those things at the same time! And since she was getting her molars the teething and pain can be worse. Then he checked her ears and even though she wasn't showing signs of an ear infection or acting like they hurt she has a mild ear infection in one ear and the start of one in the other ear.

So he wrote her a prescription for Amoxicillan (yes I know I killed that spelling!) for her to have twice a day. We went over the signs to look for, for an allergic reaction since this was the first time she was going to have to take anything but Tylenol or Motrin. Luckily I worked with Dr. Milius at Cardon's before he and another doctor opened their practice so I fully trust him and he knows how long I've worked in the medical field so I know what to look for and everything like that when it came to meds and reactions

We get it filled and she starts it and within 24 hours was acting more like her always happy self and wasn't having any issues so we continued on with our every day routine and continued the medication.

On day 7 of 10 on the antibiotic we got up, got ready, I gave her the morning dose, and then we headed to my mom's for the day to hang out.

Since I'm very pregnant when I pull up to the house I normally call my mom to have her or someone run out to help bring her in since I'm not suppose to be lifting over a certain amount of weight which Rondalynn and her car seat combined surpasses!

My mom came out and pulled the car seat out of the back seat while I walked around to get the diaper bag and my bag. Before I could get around the front of the car my mom said she has a rash!

Of course I said no she doesn't! I mean I had just put her in her car seat to come over no more than 20 minutes before and she was fine and rash free! But my mom insisted she did and before I got over there I could see on her happy kicking legs little red spots!

Sure enough she had a rash! When we got inside and took her out of her seat I looked her over and it was a typical allergic reaction rash! Mild on the arms, hands, legs, feet, and face and moderate on her chest, tummy, butt, and girly area.

It had to be from the antibiotic since that was the only thing new that had been introduced into her system in the past two weeks and because she is my daughter she would of course break out in the rash on day 7 which is about the all clear time. If you don't have a reaction before or on day 7 you are pretty much in the clear!

You could tell that she was starting to itch but I was at a loss at this point what to give them since at work we don't give Benadryl to many kids under age two unless they really need it.

So I called her doctor's office to talk to the nurse and they agreed that it was an allergic reaction to the antibiotic and now we will have to list that as a med that she can't take. She told me the dose of Children's Benadryl she can have and what else to give her and do to help with the itching and discomfort and that the rash could last for up to a week!

So Miss Rondalynn is allergic to the Penicillin family of meds and in true Kassi form I took pictures of her with her rash so we could remember the Spotted Squeaky!

As you can tell she was happy still and the pictures above where from day two and three of the rash!

But below................

Is what she looked like for day four-six!

And because the rash got so much worse, which we knew it would be it has to get better before it can get worse, we were having to give her Benadryl around the clock to help with the itching and to get rid of it!

But in time it went away and she is 100% rash free and her happy, fun, playful self!

Little Bean's Baby Shower!

Early in December we had a little baby shower for the Little Bean!

Here are the pictures that my cousin took with my camera during the party!

I have to share the story about this gift!

This is from my second cousins Britny and Sherida. Their mom is my Great Aunt Claudette who passed away in 2008 from lung cancer.

She was one of my most favorite people ever!

Well before her grandson Weston was born she had bought this sign to go into his room and after he was born and old enough Sherida put it in the closet  and said she kept meaning to donate it or give it away but every time she went to do it she got this overwhelming feeling not to do it. So she would put it back again until a later time.

When I made the invites for the shower since his nursery is a space theme I put this quote on them because it went with the theme and I love it!

Sherida said as soon as she saw it on the invitation she knew right away that, that sign she had tried over and over again to pull out of the closet and get rid of was meant to go to me and my Little Bean!

It was like her mom was right there telling her this and she knew it!

When she told me this story it took every ounce of my being not to start sobbing!

I love it and I know Little Bean will and it's going to take a lot for me to ever get rid of it now!

The adorable diaper cake my mom and Aunt Alonna made for the shower!

And of course I wasn't thinking and didn't get pictures of any of the other cute decor and food set up!

The shower was wonderful and we were showered with so much love and support!

Once again I know my baby will be coming into a world of people who already love him to the moon and back!
