Every summer I take the daycare kids to the Mesa Southwest Museum for one of the summer field trips. I have been so many times that I could lead tours on their permanent displays! But I am happy that they have a lot of new exhibits and a lot of traveling exhibits come in!
Here are the kids! All except Konner and Josh who where too cool to be in this picture!
Konner found this floating Leopluradon that is was more then excited about so he had to get a picture with it!
The kids looking at some of the dinosaur stuff.
The T-Rex! Grrrrrrr!
The boys and a Mastodon.
I thought this was a really cool metal Terradactyl! It makes me flash back to Power Ranger days!
Once we were done with Dinosaur Hall and watching the floor on Dinosaur Mountain we headed to this new exhibit about lights, sounds, and illusions!
The group and this weird illusion set up.
In this exhibit was a cool little tv that you went behind and you could put on this green blanket and whatever the blanket touched would disappear!
As you can see Konner really enjoyed this little activity!
Once we got done with this exhibit it was time to get us gold!
We went outside to pan for gold which the kids completely loved! Josh helped Tyler.
Konner helped Alyssa.
And Llama helped Kendra and Riley. Like I said the kids had a blast and were so proud of their little bags of gold they found!
Once I drugged them away from the gold and water we were off to our next adventure!
Our next adventure was getting rid of the children! In the form of prison!
All of the kids in their cell!
But Konner was able to find a nice comfy bed!
After a while we felt bad for putting them in a jail cell so we put them in a cave!
But the cave wasn't as fun as the cell so we let them go and went on with the rest of the museum. In the old west area the kids got to see an old stage coach.
And they got to be in an old western movie! The girls!
And the boys!
Somewhere in our travels we found a huge head that the kids really enjoyed!
And lastly was...........................
Space! The finally frontier!
I know this is a bad picture but this is the boys acting like they are in space!
The kids had a blast like always and were so excited to go home and tell Lisa about their day!
