Benihana December 2013!

Before the holidays hit we found ourselves again at Benihana! Yum!

And this time I brought the real camera so you can enjoy even more pictures!

It's a sushi eyeball!

Our chef told us this was Japanese motor oil and not to drink it! Hahahaha!

This was so cool! He separated the yolk from the whites and then bounced it up and down on his spatula a few times without breaking it!

Choo Choo!!

A beautiful plate of tasty veggies!

Our chef was really awesome and caught three shrimp tails at a time in his hat three times and then finished the trick with catching one in his pocket!

My super tasty dinner!

Our very entertaining chef!

At the end of dinner they asked if any of us were there for something special like birthday or anniversary and we said no just figured this would be the last time we would be able to come here for a few months since the baby will be here soon. So it's like our last big Benihana date as just a family of two.

Of course everyone went "Awww" and "How sweet!" and then they brought me free ice cream for it!

Not going to lie I was super excited since I dream about their sherbet ice cream!

My marked take home box so no one would touch it!

And lastly our free Benihana picture!

It was fun and tasty as always and even though it will be a few months before we can go back I can't wait!

Quality Time With Our Fuzzy Baby!

As we await Little Miss's arrival we still make sure that Socrates gets attention still!

He loves his bean bag time with Ron and I know even after the baby is here that he will still get bean bag time but we are making sure he still knows we love him!

All The Difference

I liked the Sunday quote so much I decided I would continue doing it through this year too!

Christmas 2013!

This year Santa hit our house hard with a lot of gifts for Little Miss!

Our poor little Christmas tree was very much taken over by gifts!

See very crowded tree! Hahahaha!

We let Socrates open his Christmas and birthday gifts, since his birthday is on Christmas.

We got him a flamingo chew toy so hopefully he will leave Little Miss's fluffy pink toys alone which he has gotten better about!

Of course he wouldn't hold still very long to get a picture will all of his gifts but this one was close! And he once again got very spoiled!

We didn't get many pictures of me opening gifts but Ron got video of it since I had a lot to open since I had to open all the gifts for Little Miss as well. But I'll try to post the videos soon once I get them downloaded from Ron.

So here is Ron opening up his gifts!

I spoiled him this year with movies, slippers, new shirts, and sweatpants.

After gifts Ron had some fun with the gift bows!

I was very tired when this was taken so that's why I look a little dazed!

Hehehehe! Our perfect little gift! We can't wait for her to get here!

And lastly just so you all know I got my Christmas orange so everything was great!

Christmas was wonderful and Little Miss got very spoiled with a ton of gifts!

Another Little Crabby!

Now that it's January I can share this post!

I love Deadliest Catch and have a birthstone crab necklace that I wear with Ron and mine birthstones on it.

See isn't it cute!

It's my everyday necklace that I wear unless we are going out some place nice and I love how unique and different it is!

Well when I found out I was pregnant a friend got me a gift that I was afraid to post about just in case Little Miss decided that she would prefer a December birthday to a January one!

But since it's January and Little Miss is still baking I can now post about this awesome gift!

A Garnet, January's birthstone, crab charm for my crabby necklace!

Yes I squealed with excitement when I opened it and on January 1st at 12:02 am I put this little box with Little Miss's birthstone charm in her diaper bag so I can put it on my crabby necklace before we leave the hospital!

I'm so excited to add another charm to it!!

Chain vs Ankles!

When we have Socrates outside he is hooked up to a 100 foot stainless steel chain that he tosses around like a ball of yarn as he runs and plays in the yard.

Well my fuzzy baby forgets that his ball of yarn is not so yarn like to us so we have to be extra careful and watch for it when we are outside with him. Normally this isn't a problem because he is very mindful of it as well.

So one morning I went out to pick some oranges off our tree and he trotted over to me as I did so just hanging out sitting all pretty next to me.

The next thing I know he is standing up, intently looking at something at another tree on the other side of the orange tree and before I knew it he had taken off behind me to chase after this obvious threat on my life!

Well neither of us realized how actually close he was to the back of my legs and so his lovely chain caught the back of both of my ankles since I was out there in my sandals.

As the chain rubbed fast and hard against the back of my ankles I thought quickly of what to do.

Because of how I was standing if I walked forward I would be at the slope of the tree bottom and fall into the tree. If I moved backwards and over the chain I would lose my balance and fall on my butt most likely.

So instead I stood there, took it like a man, and yelled at Socrates to stop and to come back.

It was then as he stopped, turned around, and came trotting back that I saw what he was chasing!

It was none other than....................................

Cottontail Rabbit!

I know my life was is serious danger and Socrates had to defend his humans, land, and honor!

Of course upon discovery of what the threat was I wasn't too happy and I must have had that "Was that really necessary?!?" on when he came over to me because he licked my ankles and was then very mindful of where him, myself, and the chain was as I finished picking my oranges.

I've been caught by his chain more than once so I figured it wouldn't look too bad until I got inside the house and my sandal was sticky

This was one of my ankles, not too bad just slightly rubbed raw.

And this was the other one, which was the worse and I couldn't get a picture of it but on the other side was a nice gash that bleed for a few minutes and caused the stickiness in my sandal.

Also in case you didn't know Peroxide on rubbed raw skin hurts in a way that makes you want to cuss like a sailor, just some food for thought!

This was my worse of the two ankles a few days later!

See the nice scab from my gash! And I have a big bruise on the other side of that ankle as well as well as a good size one on the other ankle

But nonetheless I still love my puppy and maybe that rabbit did have evil intentions and he was just protecting us!

So I guess thanks Socrates for the protection and battered ankles!

2013 Goal Recap and Goals for 2014!

Yep it's January 1st which means it's time to recap the goals of 2013 and set the new ones for 2014!

Below are all 28 of the goals I made at the beginning of 2013 and how I fared with them in purple text below each one!

Enjoy!

1. Try to go to the Temple once a month or more once the Gilbert Temple opens!

Well I would love to say that I did better at this but that would be a lie plus the Gilbert Temple isn't opened yet so that put a tiny damper on my go more often plans! I tried to go more at the beginning of the year but got sick, then got pregnant, and then pregnancy made it that I could sit longer than an hour or so without having to get up and move (or go to the bathroom) so it made going a little harder to do.

2. Go with Ron to the Snowflake and Gila Valley Temple.

Nope didn't do it again because traveling while pregnant was not easy on me!

3. Finish my HUGE Deadliest Catch quilt that I started before Captain Phil died, so end of 2008!

I may not have finished this quilt but I got the squares and strips of eight other quilts done to make the "tops" of the quilts so now all nine are ready to be put on a frame and tied off!

4. Try once again to conquer my fear of fondant!

I took it on and I think for a beginner have rocked it so far!

5. Once I get caught up on my posts be no more than a week behind with my blogging!

Up until this last couple weeks of December I rocked this one!

6. Organize the room we have dubbed "Bermuda Triangle" and get stuff out in the shed.

Hahahahaha! Moving on!

7. Try to go to bed most nights at a decent hour.

Thanks to pregnancy I managed to do this one very well!

8. Stay healthy and out of the doctor or hospital!

Hahahahahaha! I really crack myself up with some of these!

9. Finally get the rest of my framed wedding photos up on the wall!

Yep!

10. Become "with child" by the end of the year at the latest!

Not only did I become with child but if Little Miss hasn't made her debut already she will very, very soon be making it!

11. Pay off my credit cards!

Got two paid off!

12. Not only go to church more but attend the whole block!

We did great going to Sacrament but not so great on going to the whole block.

13. Get a hot honey for Socrates! (Come on puppies need love too!)

Nope, poor Socrates

14. Go camping at least once!

Nope but I was hoping to do this one!

15. Even on my lazy, no work, or errands to be ran days try to get dressed in something other than pajamas at least most of the time!

Again I got pregnant and that attire became the norm for not leaving the house days!

16. Have my nails painted and lovely at least 75% of the time!

Maybe not 75% of the time but at least 50%

17. Get A's in all my classes.

Yep!

18. Make more cupcake designs (with or without fondant!)

This summer I had a cupcake day and made at least ten different designs! It was awesome!

19. Get a new pair of sandals and another pair of jeans!

Sandals yes, jeans no!

20. Go out with friends more.

Yeah I royally failed at this one!

21. Drink more water.

Once again thank you pregnancy for helping me achieve this goal!

22. Visit some of the little and less known sights that are close by.

Nope didn't venture much out of the metro area!

23. Plant a veggie and herb garden!

Sadly no

24. Write in my journal at least four days out of the week.

Nope but I'm starting up again on this!

25. Try to get used to the more spicy foods that my husband loves!

Yeah spicy foods when pregnant, at least for me, doesn't mix!

26. Do more reading!

Yep!

27. Eat healthier food.

Yep, at least most of the time!

28. And once again try to go to the Grand Canyon for the first time!

Once again another Grand Canyonless year for me!

Now on to the goals that I have for 2014. I was going to do 29 since I will be 29 this year but I think I will stick to a smaller number!

1. Go to the Temple more.

2. Write in my journal more faithfully.

3. Find something daily to be thankful for.

4. Work harder on getting my cupcake business out there.

5. Graduate from school.

6. Save more.

7. Shed the baby weight (after Little Miss gets here of course!)

8. Take more pictures!

9. Be a good mother.

And

10. Again try to go to the Grand Canyon for the first time!

So let's see how I do over the next 365 days to achieve all or most of these goals!
