Karli's school award ceremony

On Thursday May 13th Red Mountain High School had their end of the year award ceremony. The students get a letter at school if they are to receive an award so that they will know to come. So of course you know Karli got one!

This is her getting her GPA award. Over 300 students got this award for having a GPA higher then 3.5. Karli's is 4.1!

Here is the daughter of one of our good family friends getting her GPA award! Go K.J!

So with a school as big as Red Mountain with at least 1,400 and a sophomore class of at least 700 I thought that the only award Karli would be getting was her GPA award.

But of course I was wrong! This is Karli going up to get her outstanding sophomore English student!

This is all six of the students getting the English award. A boy and a girl from each grade!

When we got home in true Kassi form I had to see her awards and make her pose in a picture with them!

And because Karli is made of awesomeness she also earned her high school letter!

Now I know you all wanted a close up of the awesome pants that she was wearing in that last pictures so there you go! I'm pretty sure that I saw a pair just like these in an old 80's Van Halen music video!

Karli complete deserves the awards she got and worked so hard for them! In fact the week before she got one in orchestra as most improved player! I'm so proud of you Karli and love you so much!

Yum Yums!

The day before Mother's Day my parents and I went to Marie Calendar's and got this!

It's warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream, caramel, and whip cream in a huge glass A.K.A Heaven in a freaking goblet!

Do you see that smile on my dad's face, that is pure happiness right there folks!

And just a cute one of my parents to round things out a bit!

Iron Man 2!

On May 6th my dad, uncle Russ, Mike J, KJ, Ducky, and I went to the midnight showing of this!! Yeah I know you're jealous!

And can I tell you that it rocked my freaking socks off! You all MUST go see it!

But of course we had to get there way early so Ducky and I had some fun while waiting for the movie to start!

First I stuck popcorn up Ducky's nose and then he would use his tongue to get it out and eat it. Yes I know how gross that last part is but I wasn't eating them and he didn't have the pieces up far enough to get any nose goblins anyway!

And once we got bored of that we took a nap!

Again the movie was awesome and so worth going to see it and then getting up the next morning after two hours of sleep to go to work!

Sugarland Concert!

On May 2nd my friend Lynsey from work and I went to the Sugarland concert at Cricket Wireless Pavilion! And we were in the 6th row from the stage, so you know I got some rocking pictures!

Vonda Shephard was the first of two opening acts.

We got to our seats about halfway through her act, which is why I only have two pictures of her, but she was very good. And in case you were wondering why this name is ringing bells she used to sing the theme song for Ally McBeal.

The second opening act was Julianna Hough.

And this was one of her guitarist. I know the picture isn't the best but I had to get one seeing that she didn't even come close to looking like she should be playing for a country concert. She was wearing a short, pink punk like skirt and had dreadlocks.

And this was her other guitarist who was just hot so that is why I had to get a picture of him to showcase on the blog!

Singing on a swing

Playing guitar.

Again this name may sound familiar and that is because she used to be a professional dancer on the show "Dancing with the Stars" She danced with Anton Ohno and one the disco ball trophy one year. She was really good and had a couple of songs that I may just need to add to the ipod collection!

Finally it was time for Sugarland! Lynsey was so excited because this is her most favorite band! Now I took a ton of pictures of Sugarland but I'm only showing you some on here. And I won't have to much to say about them but just let you enjoy them! Oh and sorry that the first couple are blurry, I must have bumped my camera on a different setting and took a few pictures before I realized it!

This is the opening! They had this really awesome stage set up. Sadly from where I was at I could only see one of them until they dropped the red curtain thing.

Okay I love her hair piece and totally want one!

Singing away!

I think this one is my most favorite of the pictures I took of them!

And of course Lynsey and me at the concert!

It was a blast and Sugarland put on a very fun and up beat show that had the how place rocking! We will totally have to go again if they come again!

My mommy!

In light of today being Mother's Day I thought a Mother's Day post was in order!

This is my mom and me when I was about 10 or 11 at a church activity. This is my most favorite picture of us!

Lisa Lee Hatch Larson has been my mother for 25 years, 2 months, 23 days, 9 hours, and as of right now 48 minutes.

So in case you were wondering that is.......

302 months

9,210 days

221,049 hours

13,262,988 minutes

and 795,779,280ish seconds

For those of you that know me that is a really long time to put up with me!

In this time frame she has been there for me, supported me, and refrained from strangling me with at least a hundred doctor or hospital visits, countless nights of ignoring curfew, a few infections, over 20 surgeries, 14 years of school, 8 break-ups, 5 jobs, 4 tattoos, 3 hip replacements, 2 broken bones, and 1 move!

She has been there in my biggest highs and my lowest lows. She has given me the best gift of not only life but of being an older sister to three of the best sibling anyone could ask for!

Their are not enough words that can thank her for all and everything she has done for me and all of that time up there isn't even close to thanking her for all she does!

So in closing I just want to say THANK YOU mom for all that you have done, do, and will do for me and I LOVE YOU!

Llama's 20th birthday!

Sorry folks I'm a little behind with this post but oh well better late then never, right!

On April 17th something big happened in the Larson Family. Kristopher A.K.A Llama Face graduated from being a teenager and into adulthood! That is right folks my little brother is now 20 years old!

So to celebrate after he got off of work that day we went to Applebees and of course this happened!

He wasn't as excited about the singing as he was the .....

ice cream sundae!

Yeah he dove right into that mess!

It is crazy to think that he is already 20 years old! I remember talking to my mother's stomach when I was 5 and she was pregnant with him. And how when he was three he LOVED trains and had this Thomas the Train outfit that he never wanted to take off. When he finally out grew the thing it could stand by it's self in a corner, had more holes then Swiss cheese, and we had to burn it out of respect! Now my Llama is 20 years old and is truly an adult, scary I know! Love you my Llama Face!!!

Konner's Book Float Parade

In April Konner participated in O'Connor Elementary School's annual book float parade!

The book he decided to do was Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows which is my favorite of the series! Here is him with his float

Getting out of the car and heading to the school.

Here is a good view of the back of his float.

The fifth grade part of the parade!

Konner way back there!

Getting closer!

Konner as he was walking by me in the parade. He was excited about this year but was even more excited about next year, since it will be his last year at O'Connor he wants me to help him make a huge and amazing float! I think I may be more excited then he is!
